Ida Steixner and Lena Krampf are the two young ladies behind the label
meshit, founded in 2009 after graduation from the Fashion Insitute Hetzendorf in Vienna. In 2011, meshit was featured at
Emerge, Topshop's exclusive collection of emerging international designers. Currently,
meshit are on the shortlist for "Best Newcomer" at the Vienna Awards, a potential win garnering them more recognition and prize money. Seeking out fashion by young designers is like discovering the fountain of passion: their passion becomes your passion by wearing their clothes. I like it.
Looking through some of the mens collections recently, a consistent feature is style
and comfort which can't always be said of the women's RTW. Remember the
pony hooves Alexander McQueen had his models wear? Or the corset-like dresses Donatella loves? These two young ladies seem to capture the spirit of easy cool paired with comfort. And the detail of slit elbows and knees add that subtle little something. It doesn't always have to be tight and tettering on 5 inch heels to be sexy.
